Announcing 2019 3rd Kentucky Derby Twin Cities party. The most stylish party in Minneapolis and St. Paul Minnesota that celebrates elegant hats, dresses, seersucker and Mint Juleps… honoring the traditions established at the venerable Churchill Downs and the 145th running of the Kentucky Derby !
New this year, our party will be held at the ninetwentyfive bar at the Hotel Landing, just outside Minneapolis near the shores of Lake Minnetonka in Downtown Wayzata. ninetwentyfive is the perfect setting for the Twin Cities Kentucky Derby party yet! The venue has two floors and 4 outdoor patios, all in one space. They also have one of the most extensive whiskey and wine lists in the area.
This year, our Party With a Purpose benefits The Newborn Foundation. A local charity with a global mission to help those most vulnerable amongst us, they are excited to join our group for a day of style and revelry. Doors to the party open at 2:00pm, where You will walk the Red Carpet. We will have a photographer to memorialize your best derby attire. Once inside, grab a classy mint julep from the bar to start the wild afternoon of party excellence. Live music from Go (featuring Dave Dvorak).
Mint Julep? We have a special menu so you can taste different bourbon, whiskey and more. We also will be featuring the official cider of the Kentucky Derby the Angry Orchard Rose.
There will be no shortage of incredible automobiles at the event thanks to the AutoMotorPlex in Medina. See and be seen in some very amazing vehicles at our Ponies and Power Car Show.
Our “Best Dressed” competition is judged by two of Minneapolis fashion experts, Sara Rogers and Richard Moody, along with salon owner and First Thursday enthusiast Suzanne Erickson. Hundreds of dollars of prizes will be awarded to the winners of the Best Dressed Lady, Best Dressed Gentleman, Best Dressed Couple, Best Hat and Best Tie competitions.
The excitement will build as all eyes will turn to the screens for what is commonly referred to as The Most Exciting Two Minutes in Sports, and also as “The Run for the Roses®!” Following the race, the best-dressed contest winners will be announced, and a special concert package will be auctioned off.
